Three of the worlds most prominent religions can from the honor of Abraham, as their creator and is the model for that faith. Abraham is a major prophet for Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. For Judaism, Abraham's kids name was Issac and the Jacob. In Christian is part of the bible and he was an holy ancestor. And in the Islams religion Abraham is interpreted by a son and which is in Mecca an also the holiest place for Muslims around the world. He lived up to age 175, (which seems un true.) I remember this from Hebrew school that Abraham as going to offer this son Issac as a human sacrifice but an angel stops him at the last minute. Since there is no historical evidence of his life, other than things that were written down after he died. Could the true stories be altered from long periods of time, like the game telephone? All are these things true? Do we know that these things really happened? If they are not true, does that mean these three religions are based on lies of what was told?
In the podcast it talked about how Abraham as made all these religions agree one and another. I think that this is because it is probably one of the only thing that all three monotheism religions have in similar. People that have things that are similar which is like agreeing to one thing. The things that they agree one are that what some people arggue about. Arguments that happened within religion becomes huge because religion is something that is so powerful that every one must feel apart of it. Mostly the really religious people like my Hebrew teacher Eddie, every time we didn't agree she would get angry and get really worked up, now i know that's because she felt like the religion was apart of who she was. And with out that she would feel incomplete.
In the podcast it also talked about how Abraham is one of the most well talked persons within the three religions. The three religions tell it differently which causes some heat. It is creating a cultural diffusion, because all three have different stories on Abraham. In the podcast it talked about the killing for God which was one of the reasons toward 9-11, it was those people showing that was killing for God. Personally, I think its weird to kill some one for God. Those people in 9-11 didn't deserve it and nether did the families who lost friends and family. Since 9-11 the world and religions have been based and viewed differently. Since 9-11 I don't really care for Muslims and will not go to a Muslim country, pretty much I am stereotyping the whole religion even though it was only a few people with those silly religious view points.
